Never talked about those crazy resort fees which really adds up on the bottom line. When in Vegas....take Uber if possible instead of the high price buses and taxis. All the major hotels on the strip have "Uber" pickup locations.
This book was great! My fellow travelers and I read it on the plane to Las Vegas so by the time we arrived we knew where to eat and what to see!
Athough we go a few times per year it is great to know what the changes are and some of the new places to eat. Like the way the book is put together.
Excellent, valuable information included to help you make decisions of what to visit during a visit to Las Vegas.

Edited after our Thanksgiving week trip, 2017, to Las Vegas.Even more disappointed in this book.I mentioned in my original review that the dining rates at Caesars Buccanal Buffet were incorrect. They have eliminated breakfast/lunch and have a much more expensive brunch everyday.It turns out, this seems to be a creeping practice during holiday weeks. Thanksgiving is a slow time in Vegas, and the hotel rates are among the lowest of the year. It’s a great time to get a primo hotel at a very affordable price. That’s why the gouging at buffets was so surprising.We went to the Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan. We were staying at Caesars, so it was a jaunt. Price for the weekday lunch was 50% higher than Frommer book. That’s because everything was called brunch this week. Food was mediocre at best. By calling it a brunch, lunch selection was reduced by table allotted to breakfast items. By 2:30, they were mostly empty and cold.Went to the Wynn for breakfast buffet. Again, brunch only this week. Priced at double the normal breakfast price. Close to $ 50 breakfast person. Last year, it was 25 for breakfast. This is a new practice. On the plus side, breakfast lines were very short.Whoever put together the Frommer book did a lousy job of updating this new practice.Recommendation. Go to a regular restaurant, not a buffet. We had 2 breakfasts at Caesars Palace Cafe Americano. Open 24 hours. The portions were big enough to share. My wife ordered toast one day, bagel and cream cheese the other. About $8.00. I then shared my very large breKfast with her, mine was about $24, but gigantic and good. Coffee was $5.50 each. Bill with tip, about $45. Better value than crazy brunch prices. Good atmosphere. Wonderful service.We also has breakfast twice at Mon Ami Gabi, a very nice French Style restaurant at the entrance of the Paris Hotel. Excellent food. Comparable pricing to Cafe Americano at Caesars. Great atmosphere, service, food. The hotel is now in the low rent district, so this excellent French Restaurant located there was unexpected. It’s directly across from the Bellagio fountains.To finish off what I hope will be a helpful review, our friends stayed at the Mirage. The Mirage is now, what the Circus Circus was for years. Old, not modernized, inexpensive if that’s your priority. Don’t expect nice. Our friends were satisfied with the hotel and the buffet,Original review.We frequently visit Las Vegas. The book may be useful to new visitors.We often used Trip Advisor in choosing our hotels. After their integrity was brought into question over their handling of negative reviews on Mexican resorts, I turned to this guide. I expected more. I’ll just stay with free online reviews.Although listed as a 2018 edition, updates are lacking. Caesar’s Palace Buccanal Buffet is listed as having threes separately priced meals. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. I don’t think that is correct. From my research, it appears they now have a brunch which combines breakfast and lunch for a single price, and a dinner price. We will be going there in 2 weeks and will update this review if needed. I was also hoping for a worthwhile discussion of the various towers. The wording seemed right out of existing online reviews, The editor seemed to be very careful not to offend anyone. Also, and very significant, I found no mention of two of our favorite restaurants, the Cheesecake Factory which is located in the forum shop area, and the Grand Lux, a sister operation.I ordered the book after reading parts of the book online. I expected the book to be more useful than it is.
